Dresses...

Here are some examples of dresses that I've made. I love natural fabrics, such as linen, wool, cotton and silk, and try to use them whenever possible.

While I love the vintage styling of these dresses, they can be updated to reflect a newer look. I also sew period correct historic clothing from the 1750s-1790s time period.

OG Dress

A lovely retro style dress in a bright lively color combination. Vintage fitted bodice and full skirt styling in a great linen fabric. This dress is shown with a petticoat underneath Cotton was used this time on this bright fun dress! Very full skirt shown over a petticoat with a fitted fake halter bodice. The bodice is lined and zips up the back with two buttons to close it. Hello to the 1750s! I volunteer at a local historical association doing spinning demonstrations. I wear period correct clothing during the demos and house tours.

I sew all the historical clothing for my husband and myself to wear during house tours and wen attending various events for the association. Yes, from the shift, stays, petticoats, gowns, jackets, breeches, waistcoats, etc., for the most part are handsewn. Even the buttonholes!
